A Good Week

Today is Tuesday, and it marks the end of one of the best weeks I’ve ever had

Last Tuesday was the 23rd, my birthday, by 18th to be exact. Unlike others I didn’t make a real fuss as I like to have a bit of peace, and to do this I made sure not many people knew about the significance of the date. This worked so well that my aunt forgot completely, and only remembered when my Dad phoned her; she made up for it by sending me a £50 Amazon voucher, which is already long spent.

I got a decent amount of cash, enough that I don’t have to save up anything for the Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 Super Elite that I pre-ordered when I had very little cash. The money has also enabled me to buy a long awaited new TV on Saturday. I was very specific on what features I wanted, and managed to get one for quite cheap. Full 1080p HD, VGA and DVI-I ports, 2 Scart, a HDMI, Component HD, and other less important connections. It now means that I can use my PC with a bigger screen and resolution, use my PS2 in my room and be able to read the on screen text, and use the 360 to its full potential when I get it.

Speaking of the Xbox, from today (the 2nd) it marks a week until Final Fantasy XIII comes out, and I get my 360.

The 24th was the night of the annual singing showcase, this year called “So You Think You Can Sing”. This year I deviated from my usual Elton hit, and did Bowie instead, singing his “Life on Mars”. And for the fist time since I started doing these shows, I didn’t muck up a lyric, as last year I repeated lines in the wrong place, and the year before I had a mental blank.

The final event of the week was on Saturday. That was the day I got my new TV, but on the same day I my dad took me to a restaurant that I've wanted to try ever since I opened: Little Frankie’s. Now I’m a glutton at the best of times, but the portions at Little Frankie’s beat me, but even though I didn’t finish it, it tasted great.

Now it’s Tuesday, and I’m going to do one of my favourite things today, clean install a PC. JFH decided that as a program we needed for working with wasn’t going to behave properly on our own laptops, we would create some school laptops which would be isolated from the network, and use them instead of our own. So today we’re installing the OS on them.

I’ll write again soon, probably about how I'm getting on with the 360
